Skull Island is a small map that takes place on an island, and was made by former developer Lupus. The teams spawn in small village areas that have wooden huts and towers around their corner. On another corner of the map, there is a large skull rock that can be entered via the eyes, mouth, or back. Inside there is treasure strewn about. In the opposite corner, there is a large mountain that has a cave on the top where you will find a desk with cooking supplies inside of it. The island is surrounded by crystal blue water which runs through the island in a river. Along the river are islands and hills with trees and a dock with a ship.
Strategies[]
Despite the small, fast paced nature of this map, it supports a variety of playstyles. For example, there is a lot of sniping that occurs. It is not uncommon for players to simply stay in their spawn and snipe enemies sitting across the map in their own spawn with the Sniper Rifles, .50 Cal Snipers, Auto Snipers, or Hunting Rifles. More mobile players will either charge straight towards the enemy spawn or attempt to access one of the many vantage points, with battles frequently occurring on and around the mountains and caves. Players may even take the time to circle around the map and reappear in the enemy spawn. The caverns and hills are often hotly contested due to their sightlines and access to the spawn points. However, battles are almost never exclusively fought at long range. It is guaranteed that you will need a weapon to combat enemies at close range. Automatic weapons are useful for clearing out enemy positions or defending friendly positions from attackers. The nature of this map allows for players to quickly close the distance between enemies and slip near positions unnoticed. It is vital that you do not get caught off guard.
Skull Island brings both CQC and Sniping possibilities. Regardless of what you choose to do, the map is extremely fast-paced.
