The SCAR is an assault rifle that is most effective at the sweet spot between medium and long-range. It is based on the FN SCAR-L (Special Operation Forces Combat Assault Rifle- Light).
Design[]
The external appearance of this medium-sized assault rifle has its entire body sand-colored, except for the grip on the handguard, heat shield, and rails, which are all painted black. It also sports a standard SCAR collapsible stock. In Classic Mode, the SCAR is mounted with a one-of-a-kind holographic sight with a large blue reticle.
Performance[]
The SCAR is a good weapon for new players to start. It is meant for mid to long-range battles where one can leverage the lower recoil and increased magazine size (40 rounds in the SCAR versus 30 rounds for all other assault rifles) to land more rounds on a target. The developers have stated that the SCAR was intended to help new players get used to automatic rifles, and then help them transition to the AK or AR. The SCAR's low recoil and high ammo count make it good for players who stand still or have little movement while firing, but is outperformed by the other rifles in both close (AK) and long-ranged (AR) encounters. There is also a very significant increase in spread while moving, especially when jumping – this decrease in accuracy is one of the main reasons why the SCAR is well suited for those who fire at mid/long range from a stationary position. The SCAR has mediocre damage per shot, but only slight damage drop off making it easy to use in Medium-range battles. It is a good gun overall for those not as experienced with the other Assault Rifles.
Use[]
As stated above, the SCAR is most useful when a player is stationary and firing at medium to long- range. Because of this, SCAR users can be introduced to the support role, where some may use it as an introductory (or more general-purpose) version of the LMG/sniper rifles.
Comparisons[]
SCAR vs AR Rifle[]
The AR Rifle is more accurate at all ranges, making it well balanced, but its larger recoil makes it harder to use in the hands of inexperienced players. Meanwhile, having a smaller recoil and a larger clip size in Classic Mode, the SCAR is a good choice for engaging players at longer ranges from a fixed (and crouched) position due to the low recoil. Although its maximum effective range is less, it is more likely to get more hits with the SCAR at these ranges than with the AR Rifle.
SCAR vs AK Rifle[]
The AK Rifle is the ultimate close range CQC assault rifle and therefore has excellent hip fire capabilities. Decreased accuracy due to movement may be a problem when it comes to the SCAR, but the biggest shortcoming the SCAR has when compared with the AK is the lack of damage. A player with the AK should be able to beat an enemy with the SCAR, ceteris paribus. At longer distances, however, the shorter effective range of the AK and the low recoil of the SCAR makes the latter weapon usually come out on top.

Trivia[]
- In real life, the SCAR would have only a 30-round magazine.
- The SCAR originally had a blue reticle in its scope that was later changed to red. This was later reverted.
- The special holographic sight featured in Classic Mode is not available in Battle Royale or Dead End City, so a standard 2x scope model will be used if attached.
- The firing noise made by the SCAR is different from the rest of the assault rifles. This was changed when the AK Rifle got its unique firing sound.
- Though the iron sights in the display model are flipped up, the sights are flipped down in the first-person model, likely for a wider view.
- In the real world, the FN SCAR-L fires 5.56×45mm NATO rounds, meaning that just like the AR Rifle, in DC and BR, the Rifle Ammo for this weapon are 5.56×45mm NATO rounds.
