The Rubber Chicken was first thought of by developer Rocky Balboa in January of 2018, considered by most people to be a joke weapon that would never be added. A screenshot shared by Rocky and Joja had a rubber chicken added in, which caused Joja to have a contest for the best Rubber Chicken design. Although a few designs were created, nothing seemed to come of it. However, on November 9th, 2021, a little more than three years after it was imagined, Joja15 announced that the Rubber Chicken was becoming a reality. Finally on March 31st 2022, the Rubber Chicken was released for April Fools Day 2022, making it the second melee weapon to be released, the first being the Knife.
Dev Joja15 shared a small leak of the weapon on the War Brokers Discord server.
Design[]
The Rubber Chicken is based off a classic yellow rubber chicken. It has long legs which act as the handle for the player. The main body, neck, and head are all yellow. There a bit of red on the chin and back of the head, and there's a yellow beak.
Performance[]
The Rubber Chicken works similar to the Knife; you must be out close range and swing it to hit people. While running with it, you move at the same speed as the Knife; however, when you swing it, you get a 15% speed boost for 1 second. A single hit to anyway on a players back will kill them, anywhere else will require 3 hits to kill. Also when you swing it, the Rubber Chicken makes a squeaking sound.
Skins[]
There is no proper skin support for the Rubber Chicken. Through a bug, players may render other skins onto the Rubber Chicken (client side only) to get interesting results.
