The Laser Trip Mine is an explosive weapon for the fifth slot in the game menu that was released on February 18, 2022. It was the first release of three weapons announced by Joja15 for the Grenade Slot, on February 11, 2022.
Overview[]
The Laser Trip Mine is one of the selectable grenade types for the grenade slot. Trip Mines can be placed on any solid surface within the player's range. Once placed, the mine takes three seconds to deploy; completion of which is shown by a laser that projects from the mine. This laser only extends as far as the blast radius; 75 feet — damage dealt starting from 490 at the epicenter and ramping down linearly to 0.
Players may only have two Trip Mines deployed at a time. If a player attempts to place a third mine, it will replace the first mine placed.
Mines placed by your teammates will display with a green laser, while mines placed by you and enemy trip mines will be displayed as red. These lasers signify which ones you can and can't trigger (green are safe, red are unsafe). It is advisable to remember where your mines are to avoid removing them, believing them to belong to enemies and therefore rendering your mines pointless. In addition to tripping the laser on mines, you can set them off with explosives or by shooting them directly.
Design[]

The Mine resembles an anti-vehicle/player mine and is an olive green color. On one side there's a small pick-up handle and in the center a grey spot where the laser emits from.
Use in-game[]
The Mine works particularly well in close-quarters, such as in the streets of Cologne, inside the airport towers on Area 15 Base, the escalators of Office, and so on. One of the primary uses of the weapon is to block of routes for the enemy; when doing so, it should be placed in a spot that makes it hard for the enemy to get around. This is especially useful for maps with APCS and Tanks, as these have a lot less mobility compared to a player's mobility, and can be even more immobilised using Mines. Another thing to keep in mind is that enemy mines can be safely detonated at a distance by shooting them; to prevent the enemy from doing this, place the mine in a spot where either they can't get a shot on it at all or cannot do so safely.
How to get around them[]
Mines can completely block off routes on maps, forcing you to go around, so it best know other ways to get by it. The first way is to safely detonate it a a distance by shooting it; if you shoot at it while standing too close, the mine will kill you when it explodes. Another way to do this is to use and explosive weapon or a Grenade to safely detonate it if you can't get a shot on it. Weapons like the RPG and Grenade Launcher work well for this, but the Frag Grenade and Smoke Grenade can be also used as well. Once again, don't be too close or it will kill you. The final way to get around is to try to jump over it if it's placed low. You can crouch or walk under if it's placed a bit high. If none of these option work, you'll just have to find an alternate route.
You can also disable a laser trip mine by shooting at it through the wall (only thin corners will do, you can't do this with thick walls), though this tactic wastes a lot of ammo.
