Holiday Royale was a festival event featured during the Holiday Event 2019. It reappeared in Christmas, 2020. But in 2021, the gameode was featuerd in Dead End City. Its name suggests, it is a variation of Zombie Royale.

Game Mechanics[]

The basic mechanics is identical to Zombie Royale.

Enemies[]

The latest Holiday Royale (2020) had the following enemies:

  • Elf - melee enemies that make sidesteps wider than Skeletons in Zombie Royale. Sometimes, however, they will charge directly at you till shot. They constitute more than three quarters of the enemies in number.
  • Yeti - melee enemies with high speed
  • Gingerbread Man - suicidal bombers that may detonate itself when close to players but may also try to punch the player instead. This self-destructing move seldom causes more than 20 points of damage and the fact that they always charge head-on make them the least threatening species.
  • Nutcracker - ranged enemies that carry a pistol but always switch to an RPG to attack. Apparently the RPG does not one-shot Cars as normal RPG do. They do, however, retain the ability to deal a gruesome 200 points of damage with a headshot.
  • Boss - A gigantic Santa with an AK Rifle as its primary weapon plus some Grenades at his disposal. His aim is rather poor but he has 30,000 to 90,000 HP (based on the amount of players in the final Zone). Only appears after [about] the sixth Zone.
  • Snowman - Ranged enemy with a Grenade Launcher that shoots snowballs. They behave similar to Nutcrakers, but they have higher reload rate and even greater knockback.

Strategy[]

Many of the strategies found in Zombie Royale can also be applied to Holiday Royale.

Nutcrackers are a major threat to players. Despite their lengthy reload, an unlucky volley of two RPGs from two Nutcrakers can cause a swift death without any time for to heal. Even though they have a low projectile speed that are possible to dodge, they are crippling to any player engaging a horde or aiming on a scope. Therefore, it is advisable to designate one or two players as snipers specifically to eliminate them. Their impressive, over 300 meters range can prove difficult for even an experienced AR Rifle user.

Barring Nutcrakers, high grounds are exceptionally effective in Holiday Royale because the enemies cannot climb ladders and have a tendency to gather beneath a wall they cannot scale trying in vain to catch the player above, providing free headshot opportunities and grenade multi-kills.

A noteworthy strategy is to fight enemies outside of the Zone in mid-late game. This unusual strategy is feasible owing to the large supply of healing items available from green crates. It distances one from the main horde while luring a manageable mob into the raging Storm. Do be aware that visibility is low in the Storm and the reduced health leads to vulnerability against Nutcrackers one-shot.

History[]

  • In 2019:
    • There were bots like those in Battle Royale. Unfortunately they are hostile to players.
    • Elves did not sidestep, and Nutcrackers only wield pistols despite their looting habit.
  • In 2021
  • Instead of the gamemode being featured in the Battle Royale Gamemode, it was featured in Dead End City, where you have to escort Santa's tank to the end.
  • The Snowman was added, its armed with a Grenade Launcher that shoots snowballs.
