Jets[]

Fighter Jets are one of the vehicles in War Brokers. They are 1 of the 2 airborne vehicles in the game, the other being the Helicopter. They have excellent speed, acceleration, and armament against vehicles, but lack the durability of other vehicles, requiring expert usage to effectively attack enemy infantry.

Design[]

Both types of Jets have 700 health, which heals over time. They are both equipped with unguided and guided missiles and Machine Guns, as well as Flares to counter Homing Missiles.

Rockets are put on the 1. slot in the hot bar and shoot a projectile similar to the RPG rocket. They are automatic, so they can be held down to fire a full salvo. Rockets are best against ground vehicles and players on the ground.

Homing Missiles are put on the 2. key, and require the user to keep the nose of the aircraft pointed at the target for approximately 2 seconds, which gains missile lock. After this, the player can fire the Homing Missile, which will change the target until impact, unless the target deploys Flares to dodge. They are automatic, so they can be held down to fire a full salvo. They are similar to the Homing Missile weapon.

Machine Guns are put on the 3. slot in the hot bar and shoot bullets in a small spread at wherever the mouse is pointed. They are great for melting enemy fighter jets that are flying slowly, or against other vehicles. They are automatic, so they can be held down to fire a full salvo. The muzzle velocity of the Jet Machine Guns is not very high, meaning that you will often find yourself having to significantly lead a target to hit it while attempting deflection shots.

Controls[]

WBJetAfterburner

Afterburner toggled

The player can control the speed with the "W" and "S" keys. The "A" and "D" control yaw (turning left or right). The mouse is used to control pitch (up and down motion), and roll (tilt left or right), which can also be used to turn without using the "A" and "D" keys. If desired, the player can also press "space" to go into the afterburner, giving the plane an extra burst of speed. Yaw is useful for making micro-adjustments and tracking moving targets while rolling and pitching are useful for maneuvering and making sharper turns.

WBJetFlares

Jet's Flares

Flares are put on the "Q" key by default and are used to counter Homing Missiles. Once the enemy player fires the missile, you can deploy Flares to deflect it. However, each plane only has 3 before they have to reload for 30 seconds, so use them carefully, and avoid accidentally deploying them at all costs.

Types[]

There are 2 types of Fighter Jet in War Brokers. These are the 1-Fin and the 2-Fin.

1-Fin[]

The 1-Fin Fighter Jet is modeled after the real-life American F-16 Fighting Falcon . It has a full salvo 7 Rockets, but individual rockets are weaker than the 2-Fin's Rockets. Its Homing Missiles do 200 damage, but its Machine Guns do more damage than the 2-Fin's.

2-Fin[]

WB2Fin

The 2-Fin Fighter Jet is modeled after the real-life Russian Sukhoi Su-27 . It has a full salvo of only 2 Rockets. However, each Rocket does much more damage than the 1-Fin's. Its Homing Missiles do 250 damage, but its Machine Guns do less damage than the 1-Fin's.

A-10 Thunderbolt[]

According to JoJa15 and the devs, there were ideas of potentially adding the A-10 Thunderbolt, but the idea was scrapped as JoJa had announced that it was simply just an idea, and was never going to be added. As of now, there have been suggestions to potentially add the plane, but it is unknown if the plane will ever be close to even being considered to be added.

Trivia[]

  • Both kinds of jets cannot be landed. A point will be awarded to the enemy if the jet crashes with a player in it.
  • These are the only planes in the game. However, there are rumors and suggestions that there might be a new plane coming up.
  • Flares will lose any missile that is currently locked and being locked as well as your lock on enemy vehicles.
    • However, even if you launch flares, there is a chance that the missile will still hit you if you remain in its path. Therefore, when flaring, it is advised that you break off and speed away from the missile's trajectory.

Tips[]

  • When making attack runs on the ground, it is advised to use the 1st Person Point of View.
  • In a dogfight, try to hold the lock until you are as close as possible to the target. This reduces the chances of a flare distracting your missiles.
  • Jets are excellent vehicles for reconnaissance. By flying high up into the air and right-clicking, enemy positions can be revealed on the map for you and your team to see
  • When using the afterburner, don't pull up too quickly near the ground. If the tail end of the jet touches the ground, there is a high chance for it to suffer catastrophic amounts of damage.
  • It is advised to increase mouse sensitivity for the jet in the settings to increase your turn radius and agility. Just try not to get motion sickness.
  • When attacking helicopters, attack them from above. They have a limited angle at which they can point up which you can use to your advantage.
  • If you can't get a missile lock during a dogfight because the enemy keeps out turning you. try using your machine guns to deal some damage.
