Emblems are a cosmetic type for players in War Brokers. Equipped emblems are attached to the sides of vehicles driven/piloted by the player (excluding the BR Car), or may be displayed on the player if they equip emblem patches. There are three emblem patches that a player may equip; the shoulder patch, and the two torso patches (one for the chest and one for the back).
Customization[]
As mentioned above, players can equip emblems at 3 locations on the body: left shoulder, front and back as well as the emblems automatically appearing on the vehicles along side the flags when equipped on the body. The emblem color is personally adjustable through a RGB color slider found in the settings.
Standard Emblems[]
There are 104 standard emblems in the game—each selling for 150 coins each. More emblems used to be available through the legacy emblem crate.
Squad Emblems[]
Current Status[]
Squad emblems were part of an old program that is no longer offered. Players cannot request for new squad emblems or ask to recycle them for their own squads. The reason for the removal of the squad emblem program came down to a few factors:
- Each emblem required developer time to review for hidden meanings, inappropriate symbolism, copyright, and game style
- Squads were growing more and more, so a few emblems for fun had begun to snowball into multiple requests
- This was effort for free to benefit very few players instead of development time towards things that benefit everyone, while the cosmetic itself had no transactional benefit
- Cosmetics like the Wiki Katana, YT/Twitch sweaters, Green Glowing Eyes, Steam-exclusive cosmetics, and more all had some level of transaction
- Steam was a purchase, so players were essentially paying for the Steam-exclusive cosmetics
- Most of the other cosmetics involved thanking players for their support of the game through advertisement of the game and support of resources like the wiki
- Squad Emblems were exclusive for free to only a few players, usually only benefiting less than 10 members compared to the thousands of players in the game
- Redeem Codes inevitably get leaked as players share with friends and family, and past drama had already risen with massive code leaks for emblems of squads like [V] and [RV] (Vengeance and Revenge; they shared the same emblem as they were sister squads)
- Changing codes takes a lot of time for something that will get leaked again, and cleaning out player accounts to remove an emblem is a lot of time and can feel oppressive so the developers did not want to chase up big leaks
- Restricting codes to specific players is not easy to track effectively due to squads changing members frequently
- Restricted codes like for staff is simple because the list of staff is very stable and very rarely changes, making any change an easy addition or removal to the accounts that can use restricted codes
History[]
Some squads from 2018 - 2021 were given the privilege of emblems exclusive to their squad. Leaders had the option to submit designs to the developers. Assuming it passed a copyright check the emblem would be added, sometimes with tweaks by Silk Spider. The first ones were fun little additions that were included in the emblem crate and were available to the general public too; assuming they had the luck to unbox it. Nobody had exclusive rights, the emblems were just custom designs themed around a few early squads. Due to the growing desire for more squads to receive their own emblems, and the desire for more exclusivity in the matter and for squads to actually obtain the emblem (because unboxing involved luck), the redeem codes would later be developed to support this. Starting with [ES.P] all future emblem additions would not be added to the emblem crate and would be exclusive to the redeem code. The original squad emblems would also receive codes retroactively so their respective squads could enjoy their emblems too.
Leaders were provided with the code that they could share with members in their squad to redeem from the menu. Only the leader(s) held the right to distribution of the code; leaking of and illicit usage of the codes was a punishable offense. Trying to beg for codes or sharing these codes was a quick way to get muted.
Early 2021 the system would end. Silk Spider was usually the one that handled emblems, however Rocky Balboa handled them towards the end of its lifespan. [BTB] (Blaze Troopers Back, later Blaze Troopers Backline) was the final squad to have an emblem added. [Exile] (Exiled Degenerates) was the final squad to be in the line-up; submissions were still accepted at the time but after delays on the developer side they made the call to end the production of emblems and its addition to the game was dropped.
List of Squad Emblems[]
There are 57 squad emblems in the game at present (59 if counting the unobtainable ones).
Broken Codes[]
These emblems have dubious origins and appear to be unobtainable through their intended codes. This has unintentionally left these emblems as rare.
- The code
bird_emblem
provides a squad emblem of unknown origin. Even the developer, Silk Spider, has no clue and has the file stored as Png.png. - A squad emblem for [AK-KGB] has a code pointing to a missing file due to a spelling error. The code looks for emblem 146 (which does not exist) while the emblem is actually emblem 148.
Unique Emblems[]
These emblems are unlike the standard ones found in the shop, or the squad ones available through a redeem code. They were tied to old features and events and may not have released through normal means before. They tend to be considered the rarest emblems in the game, though some of them are common due to having a public redeem code as a fun extra emblem rather than being tied to a squad.
Common[]
- The 'Missile' emblem was originally in the now removed emblem crate and was missed when they transitioned into selling emblems on their own. Other than it being unavailable in the regular store, it can still be obtained like them from special crates.
- The 'Bacon' emblem was an emblem the developer Silk Spider was inspired to make when helping the player "TheBacon" make the [HC] (High Caliber) emblem. There was talk about pranking [HC] members that it was their new emblem.
Rare[]
- The 'Target' emblem has never been released. It was equipped by bots on front and back emblem patches during April Fools, 2020.
- The 'Siib' emblem is an emblem based on an inside joke on the misspelling of 'Soon' that only released for purchase for Easter, 2020 (selling for 50 coins). In August 2024, an error caused it to sell instead of the Sloth head when players tried to purchase what looked like a 50 coin head instead of the 500 coin price these animal heads normally sold for.
- The 'Recycle' emblem is an emblem of the recycling icon and was only released as a free-with-play reward during Earth Day, 2020.
- The 'Developer' emblem has never been released. It was made for the developer, Dipper. It was rumored to be his own squad emblem for a squad he would make (presumably [DEV] which he now resides in years later).
