Cyber Tribute is a map in Classic Mode. It was added to War Brokers in Version 407. Cyber Tribute was made by the developer Silk Spider and is a parody of Tribute. This parodied cityscape depicts a Sci-Fi/cyberpunk setting which sets itself apart from other maps.

Layout[]

The layout of the map is mostly identical to the Tribute map. There are a few slight adjustments to the positioning of stairs and entry ways that help to reduce the amount of camping that is possible on the vanilla map. It is one of only two maps in the game set at night (by default), the other being Escape; ZBR/ZDC often incorporates the night as an alternate setting on maps. The most notable difference aside from the setting being at night, is the severe lack of vertical space. Invisible ceilings and high invisible walls reduce the parkour aspects that Tribute is traditionally known for. As a result, this severely reduces the various paths a player could take and positions they could hold. Only one notable building is still possible to get on top of (the short green building by the bus stop).

Through a variety of setups, players can maneuver around the invisible collision to land atop the overpass that overhangs the NW path between the two spawns.

Strategies[]

Cyber Tribute is predominantly close-ranged combat. Recommended weapons are the SMGs, the VSS, and the AK. Just like Tribute, grenades are also useful here as well. Most of the fighting occurs between two chokepoints—one in the NW corner of the map, and another within the inner-SE stairway. If the opposing team is holding one of the chokepoints, it would be wise to take the other direction where defense is lighter and a flank is possible. Players should be diligent in shifting between the two points as necessary to lock players in their spawns, and on the opposite end trying to hold back against the same situation on their own side. It becomes difficult to counter the opposing team once your team has been locked in.

The lack of parkour space is both a benefit and detriment to an effective deadlock. Players no longer have to worry about enemies camping within their spawns from high up, but no longer have height as an escape route to counter enemies.

Trivia[]

  • Cyber Tribute is referred to as 'Tribute Silk' internally.
  • The original Tribute was temporarily replaced before being added back as an option alongside Cyber.
  • The outer wall of the map resembles and appears to be heavily-inspired by the walls in City 17 from Half-Life 2.
  • There is an Easter Egg on this map.
  • Cyber Tribute used to have Bomb Disposal as a game mode, same as Tribute. The icon on the gamemode choice is still there, but if it is selected, the gamemode will be Team Death Match.
