The Chick was the original release of the outfit, and was originally available during the Easter 2019 event. It was one of the skins that could be obtained through an Easter Crate. Similar to the Bunny, it has an opening to show the player's head. It has had a repeat appearance via Easter Crates during Easter 2021.
As a zombie type in Giant Bunny Royale, Chicks run up to the player and self-destruct. They can be considered as walking grenades. Killing Chicks will also cause them to explode. They are a dangerous enemy to be given priority when a horde of enemies are running towards the player. Chicks' explosions do not harm their ally zombie types, so they can't be used to quickly fend off hordes. Players are tasked to kill them at a distance so that they don't find explosions going off in their face.
As an available outfit for purchase, Egg Splode sold during Easter 2022 for 600 coins, with a triggered variant sold alongside it for 1200 coins. The triggered variant is bundled with the Yellow Glowing Eyes item. The name Egg Splode originates from and references the Chick zombie type from Giant Bunny Royale where Chicks walk up to players and self-destruct.
The most interesting aspect of this outfit is that its triggered variant brought upon the second appearance of Yellow Glowing Eyes, making them the first glowing eyes to be in two different outfits; the other outfit being The Butcher. While The Butcher is worth 1100 coins and a cheaper option to Egg Splode (Triggered), Yellow Glowing Eyes have the potential to be cheaper (and the cheapest of all eyes) to those who got the Chick from Easter Crates; bringing the price of the triggered outfit down to just 600 coins (as players are now only buying the eyes).
On November 29, 2022, the Egg Splode (Triggered) outfit was updated to the Heroic rarity instead of its previous Legendary one.
