BGM[]
The BGM is one of two special weapons, the other being the Air Strike. Unlike the Air Strike, however, it can be manually steered and guided to its target.
Design[]
The BGM is similarly coloured to the Homing Missile and has similarly-shaped barrel (the front end) and breech (the rear end). The tube has a brighter green stripe in the section closer to the back end. Instead of having a scope, the launcher has a large screen that displays the HUD to guide the rocket. It most represents the FGM-148 Javelin in real life.
Performance[]
The BGM is a special weapon that occupies the 6th slot in your hotbar. After firing and hitting its target, it starts a 10-minute cooldown. This makes the BGM a one-time-use weapon. However, you can't deny that this thing packs a hefty punch, dealing around 800 damage on a direct hit. In Classic Mode, it is often used for revenge killing, picking out a skilled player that is too hard to be killed by the player himself, faraway kills (usually at the start of the game), and vehicle damage.
It is manually guided by the player while the player stays stationary. When fired, it switched to a first-person view from inside the missile and the player controls it by moving their mouse in the direction they want it to go. The BGM has a greyscale overlay which can be selected with the Menu option "BGM Overlay". The amount of fuel remaining is shown as a black bar at the bottom of the screen. Holding down the left mouse button will make the missile travel faster, but will cause it to use up more fuel. The missile can travel at least 1200m before running out of fuel. If it has not come into contact with the enemy, it will detonate in the air after the fuel is completely spent. If the player is killed while using the BGM, the player will lose control of it, and it will continue flying straight until it runs out of fuel or crashes into the map border.
Trivia[]
- The BGM has a glitch that makes it able to be used for a second time after launching and killing a player when using it the first round.
- Although it is mainly useful for precision strikes against infantry and slow moving vehicles, the BGM is sometimes used against aircraft, although the agility of helicopters and jets makes it hard for the BGM operator to land a hit. Still, the BGM can deal devastating damage if the shot connects.
