One of the two maps released from the Area 15 event.

Layout[]

This map is an airstrip within a large desert. The desert is made up of massive rolling hills that extend onward for the entirety of the map. Instead of hills in the center, there is a relatively large military airport. The airstrip has a runway running down the middle where two Fin-1 fighter jets can be seen parked. There are air control towers in the bottom right and top left corners of the baseā€”the windows of which can be shattered.

On the right side, there are three XL-type hangars. On the left, there are small military tents like the ones found on Desert. There are two large planes, one in a hangar and the other on the taxiway. They resemble the C-130 Hercules. The planes are stationary models that can be entered but not flown. In the second hangar, there is a pile of shipping containers much like the ones from Flooded. Most of them can be entered. In the final hangar, there is a containment zone. It features three medical tents with hazmat tubes running between them. They are big enough to fit the Level 1 APCs and can be penetrated by minigun rounds from Level 2 Helicopters.

Strategy[]

On the map there are two teams; the 'defenders' and the 'raiders'. The 'defenders' spawn on the base on the side with barracks and smaller hangars and have access to Level 2 Helicopters which are by the tents, and two Fin-1 Fighter Jets ready to take off on the runway. The Guards have to fight against an onslaught of raiders who spawn out on the rolling desert hills behind the hangers. The raiders can either run into the base on foot or drive Level 1 APCs. There are four APCs in total on the 'raiders' side, meaning there can only be four of which attacking at once.

This map gives opportunities for snipers and RPG users to shine, with vantage points on top of the hangars, in the control towers, and/or on the hills. For CQC players, there is open space on the runways to engage your enemies at close ranges. Most people stay in the open or at a vantage point, although some will hide or camp in the hangars or tents. A big part of the vehicle combat is between Level 2 Helicopters with Fin-1 Fighter Jets working together to attack Level 1 APCs. The APCs are effective at playing the roles of anti-air detergent, and recommended as the primary source of knocking out any airborne aircrafts and helicopters, with the miniguns being a backup weapon.

Occasionally, the base defenders will overrun the Raider spawn and attempt to camp there until they get wiped out. However, in most scenarios, the raiders tend to overwhelm the guards using shock and awe tactics. This problem can easily be solved with RPGs since they have the biggest area damage against ground vehicles in the game. This map satisfies a large range of player types, but with limited coverage, you'll need to quickly kill your enemies before they can kill you.

Trivia[]

  • The two Fin-1 Fighter Jets are depicted on the minimap, despite being usable vehicles.
  • The name of this map and the "Area 15 Bunker" are a play on the name of Area 51, in which this map inspires.

Easter Eggs[]

  • There is a Tank that is not in-game inside one of the cargo planes shown below. It is known as the Tank Lvl-4 or more commonly, the Anti-Air Tank. It closely resembles a ZSU-23-4 Shilka.
