Once activated, you take 75% less damage but all monsters will agro on you. Lasts for 90 seconds. Available again three minutes after previous usage.

Agro Tank is a special weapon (aka ability) that allows players to act under a tank/juggernaut playstyle option. Despite its description it reloads after two minutes. This works in tandem with a player's equipped armor to grant a higher defense; this can allow a player to reach as high as 85% damage reduction. Knockback is not negated by this ability.

The ability was originally introduced in v478 (the Halloween 2022 Event update) with a different but similar effect, showing in both Zombie Battle Royale and Zombie Dead City modes since until it was changed in v498. Players who wish to perform the role of a "tank class" may use the ability to grant them extra bulk when leading enemies away as bait. While active, the player will be able to take more unavoidable hits while working with Aggro'd teammates to clean out a large horde—allies will kill the distracted enemies that the "tank" aggros onto them as bait.

Agro Tank produces a red circle aura effect while active—only visible to other players.

Calculating Damage[]

As the Agro Tank ability is able to work alongside physical armor, players are given options for massive damage reduction. The benefit for this is however not as great in a PvE situation with monsters as opposed to in a standard round with players such as Battle Royale. Here the .50 Cal Sniper's lethal 600 damage on a head shot which normally would only be avoidable with a Heavy Helmet—reducing it to 360 (15 HP shy of guaranteed OHKO)—could be avoided with any helmet.

Accounting for critical damage[]

Note that player melee attacks do not get critical hits on the head, but will do 300% damage to a player from behind—or 75% damage while the ability is active. Physical armor does not block player melee damage. Monsters are unable to get critical hits and will have their damage blocked normally by physical armor.

Old Ability[]

Before v498, this ability was called "Armor" and had the in-game description: "Once activated, you take 35% less damage. Lasts for 30 seconds. Available again three minutes after previous usage." Despite its description, the effects of the ability while active would grant the player a 30% reduction to damage. It was widely considered as one of the least useful of the ability options at the time. This was due to the overall desire to avoid damage in the first place.

Armor produces a yellow electricity effect while active—only visible to other players.
