Sounds helps. This works for the Air Strike too; a "thunk" can be heard before the air strike even starts to fall on you.
Identify cover to get out of the enemy's line of sight, or to be safe from a BGM hitting you. If you are in the open and you have been spotted then you want to try baiting the person to speed up their BGM to hit further away from you. I'm not sure it's something that can be explained well... you're going to be strafing in front of it and suddenly changing directions and you're going to jump suddenly towards the end. It is a success even if you got hurt and are left on 13 HP.
